| Finding Emo |
Is emo a movement, a catchphrase or just a euphemism for guys with guitars
and mascara? Fans and pundits can debate its definition, but we recommend
checking out the alternately earnest and explosive music made in its name. For
your consideration, here's a lineup of emo icons past and present.
Fall Out Boy bassist and lyricist Pete Wentz, pictured here performing with the band in 2006,
personifies much of the modern emo style and sound. Eyeliner-highlighted
movie-star looks, suburban-angst lyrics and song titles too long to put on a
T-shirt combine to make Wentz a quintessential emo idol. (Pamela
